Before you leave campus, please make sure you log into the laptop with your MVConnect username and password. Please make sure your laptop is connected to the MVCC WiFi network.
Click on "Other User" and sign into the laptop using your MVConnect User Name and Password. It should also list “STU” under the login (please see capture below).
You will not be able to test the VPN (Global Protect) connection while you are on campus. The next instructions are for when you get home.
When you are home (away from the Morainevalley Palos Hills, Blue Island & Tinley Park facilities), please log into the MVCC issued laptop then make sure it is connected to a WiFi network.
If you hover over the above WiFi icon, you should see where it says connected. You have to be connected to a WiFi network first before you are able (allowed) to connect to MVCC's VPN (Global Protect).
Once you login, you should see an icon display for Global Protect. If not, it will show up with the icons that are located by your clock (to see these icons, please click on the arrow pointing up).
This will show not connected on it. Please click on the above icon (circled in red).
You should be presented with a Global Protect Sign in screen similar to the following.
Click on Connect
You will be presented with the following screen
Enter your Moraine Valley Username and password and click Sign in. The program will show connecting for a little bit, and eventually you should see the following screen.
You are now connected to the VPN connection and should have access to the network resources (S drive) that are assigned to your username.
To Access Your MVCC Email and Office 365 Applications:
- Go to Office.com, (if the account on the sign in screen is not yours, you will need to click on “Switch to a different account”).
- Enter your Moraine Valley email address: username@student.morainevalley.edu
- This will take you to an MVConnect like screen to log in with your MVConnect password. In the upper right corner, click the App Launcher to access the Office 365 online applications.
- You will have access to the online version of Office 365. The desktop version of Microsoft Office is not covered under your Moraine Valley license – on the loaner laptops.
Note: The Moraine Valley Student laptops are set up for student use and do not allow for installation of applications.
