Using Cisco Jabber to Make Phone Calls

Overview

Cisco Jabber is Moraine Valley's Unified Collaboration tool that can be used to chat with your colleagues and make phone calls. In addition to being able to call colleagues using their extension, you can make calls outside the college. Jabber allows you to use your work phone while being offsite without having to use your personal number. Please note that if do not want to use Jabber and would rather have your work extension forwarded to your personal devices, you may do so. Please fill out the Make a Request Form on ITConnect for assistance. You will need Sign In in the upper-right while in ITConnect.

Steps

To use Jabber as your phone, you will need a microphone. A webcam is optional. Please note that most computers with a built-in webcam also have an internal microphone that you can use. If using the computer's microphone, please connect headphones or ear buds to your computer. This will help prevent the person on the receiving end from hearing an echo. Please follow the section below that best fits what you are looking to do.
