Overview

The purpose of this article is provide a brief instruction on using the Global Search in Salesforce.

Global Search allows you to find records from any Object that you have access to. It is located in the top center of your screen in Salesforce.

When you click into the Global Search bar, it will show you recently viewed records and list views. If you hover over a record, Salesforce will show you the Highlights panel from that record, without even having to click into the record! This is a great way to navigate through Salesforce when you are looking for a specific record – for example, if you are looking for information about a prospective Student or Account.
