Overview

The purpose of this article is to provide information about the technology available for students with disabilities.

Information

The Center for Disability Services (CDS) office offers a variety of equipment and technology that is available to registered students with disabilities. Students can borrow items from the CDS for an entire semester, with the option to renew the loan for following semesters. Examples of what are available include:

  • Alternative format texts (eBooks, braille, large print, etc.)
  • Dragon NaturallySpeaking (speech-to-text software)
  • Kurzweil 3000 (text-to-speech software)
  • JAWS (text-to-speech screen reader software)
  • ZoomText (screen magnifier software)
  • Digital recorders
  • Livescribe recorder smart pens & Livescribe notebooks
  • iPad (w/ charger)
  • CCTV (video magnifier)
  • Assistive listening devices
  • Carbon copy paper note-taker notebooks
  • Department computer lab
  • Laptops for use in the CDS
  • On campus lockers
  • Amigo Mobility Scooter
