Accessing Outlook on the Web (Office 365 webmail)

As part of the college’s migration onto Microsoft’s Office 365 platform, all email accounts will be moved to the cloud based “Outlook on the Web” experience. 

This move to Outlook on the Web will update the look and feel of the webmail interface, but all of the current functionality will remain. That being said, there will be a few notable changes and differences to be aware of:

  • The “Webmail” link in MVConnect will continue to provide access to your email, but the login process will be slightly different (see the bottom of this email for detailed directions)
  • The “Unread Messages” and “My Week” sections on MVConnect’s home page will no longer display your email or calendar information
  • Outlook on the Web can be accessed directly using this link:  http://outlook.com/owa/morainevalley.edu  (see step #4 below for login instructions)
  • If you are accessing your email on a mobile device, the server settings will need be changed in order to access the Outlook on the Web mailbox.

  • Creating a signature and automatic replies
  • Scheduling appointments and meetings
  • Creating and editing contacts
  • Searching for email, contacts, and events

Logging into Outlook on the Web via www.office.com

       1. Once you have navigated to the above link, select the Sign In button as seen below.

 

       2. Once you are on the Sign In screen below - Enter your Moraine Valley Email Address and select Next.

 

       3. After selecting Next, you will be taken to this page - Here, enter your Moraine Valley Credentials and select Sign In.

       4. Once signed in, you will be taken to your Moraine Valley Outlook Web Mailbox. 


Logging into Outlook on the Web via MVConnect

While the Webmail link on the MVConnect home page will still direct you to your email, the experience will be slightly different:

  1. Log into MVConnect and click on the Webmail link in the Applications menu
  2. If your email account has been migrated, you will see the following message

  1. Click on the provided link to be sent to Outlook on the Web
  2. When prompted to Sign In, use your full email address as the username ( username@morainevalley.edu )

  1. Use your MVCC password to finish logging in
