Overview
GlobalProtect is a software program that allows you to access files on the MVCC network from home. You can also access specific applications, such as Colleague, using GlobalProtect. If you are accessing other applications, such as Canvas, MVConnect, or Panopto, you are able to do so from any computer. It does not require using GlobalProtect.
Steps
Follow the steps below to get started. These instructions apply to Mac OS only. Please note these instructions only apply to Moraine-issued Macs. GlobalProtect cannot be installed and used on personal machines. You will need to be connected to WiFi.
Connecting to GlobalProtect
Step 1. Open a web browser on your Mac, and go to: https://mvccvpn2.morainevalley.edu/. Please note that you may receive a warning that the page is not secured. You should proceed to the page.
Step 2. Sign into this page using your MVConnect username and password. Click Log In.
Step 3. Click on Download Mac 32/64 bit GlobalProtect agent to download the software.
Step 4. Follow the prompts to download the software.
You will need to enter your password whenever prompted.
Step 5. Once downloaded, click on the globe on the Mac menu bar. Note: If you have Mac OS 10.13, you will not be able to sign in yet. In you have an earlier Mac OS, proceed to Step 6. If not, follow Step 5a.
Step 5a. Go to System Preferences, Security & Privacy, General and select Allow and then close the Security & Privacy window.
Step 6. Click on the globe, and type in your MVConnect username and password, and click Sign In.
If successful, the screen will read “Connected. You are securely connected to the corporate network.”
Troubleshooting
If you experience technical difficulty, please repeat the steps in the "Connecting to GlobalProtect" section.
